No, not the ones that carry alien life. The Un-Finished Objects in your craft room. Got any of those hanging around? The last 2 years, the Minooka quilt guild has offered a challenge to help motivate me to get some unfinished projects done. While I did OK at that, my list doesn't seem to be shrinking. I guess that happens when you start new projects and don't finish them throughout the year! This year, the Morris guild is doing a UFO challenge. I've got 7 projects on my list so far. I need to find one more, but I'm sure I won't have to dig too deep when I go down to the studio today. I love hearing the stories of my friends who have been quilting a lot longer than me. Take Laura for example. She brought me this quilt top on New Years Day this year. She said she doesn't even remember how old it is, she just never got it quilted for some reason. Even though this won't count for MY guild challenge, I feel a little sense of UFO-accomplishment in the little part that I played to get this old project from the to-do pile to the done pile! Disclaimer: my phone did not want to take a good picture of this quilt, so I tried to edit the colors of my photos to accurately represent the real thing. I probably didn't do a great job at that. Just know that in person, these are beautiful rich colors with a deep brown border (and thread) and its' more cream/warm than the lighter fabrics appear.
